On August 10, 2024, a workshop on “Plastic-Free School Campus” took place at DNC Multipurpose High School in Dombivli, Thane, Maharashtra, organized by EIACP Resource Partner on Avian Ecology at the Bombay Natural History Society. This event, part of "एक पेड़ माँ के नाम" अभियान and #MissionLiFE, engaged 25 students from grades 6 to 10. Programme Officer Mr. Nandkishor Dudhe presented on the environmental impact of single-use plastics, including their dangers to oceans, marine life, and human health, and highlighted sustainable alternatives. The workshop featured interactive elements, and students were rewarded with the 'Buceros' newsletter and a Hindi booklet titled “Wildlife in the Thar Desert”. An #Eco-Club was established. During the session school trustee and principal also addressing the students. The day concluded with a tree planting drive, where students actively participated in planting five saplings, such as Bauhinia racemosa and Cassia fistula, on the school campus. Natasha Girkar, the Information Officer, assisted with the event.
