ENVIS Centre on Avian Ecology, BNHS participation in Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS), Bangalore (2015)

Scientist-in-Charge of ENVIS Centre on Avian Ecology, BNHS participated in Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS) held at Bangalore, Karnataka, from 8–11 September, 2015. BNHS-ENVIS Centre Brochures and banner were displayed at the event, to publicize the work and functioning of the ENVIS center. Many national as well as international students and professionals working in the field of conservation gathered for the conference. Scientist-in-Charge participated in ‘Who’s Who in Conservation’, a session that acts as a platform for conservation agencies including NGOs, research institutions and university departments to showcase their work. During this session, participants of the conference visited BNHS-ENVIS counter to learn about the work of centre. Scientist-in-Charge distributed about 100 copies of the BUCEROS newsletter and Poster published by the centre during the International Day of Biological Diversity. More than 45 new members, both national and international were added to the Center’s mailing list. students were curious to know about the ENVIS scheme and the data provided through it. The entire conference was a fruitful event in terms of creating awareness amongst the people working in the conservation field. BNHS-ENVIS Centre received positive response from all the participants.
