On World Wetlands Day, observed on 2nd February 2025, the EIACP RP on Avian Ecology at the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS-EIACP) set up an informative and interactive exhibition stall at Parvati Arga Wildlife Sanctuary, Gonda District, Uttar Pradesh.
The stall aimed to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands in biodiversity conservation. It showcased informational posters on bird diversity and various knowledge products related to wetland ecosystems. Shri Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, visited the stall, where Programme Officer Mr. Nandkishor Dudhe engaged with them, explaining the knowledge products and activities undertaken by BNHS-EIACP.
The exhibition received an overwhelming response, reflecting a growing interest in wetland conservation. Such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering environmental consciousness and inspiring collective action to safeguard wetlands for a sustainable future.
