The Environmental Information Awareness Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) Programme Centre (PC), Resource Partner (RP) on Avian Ecology at the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS-EIACP) is organising Bird Count at Bhandup Pumping Station.

Note: Please note BNHS-EIACP will not charge any fees. However, the Forest Department charges at Bhandup Pumping Station entry will be applicable. Camera charges will be extra.

About Asian Water Bird Census ( AWC) 2023 
 
As you are aware that every year, a citizen-science based water bird census is conducted  for recording and monitoring waterbirds and wetlands across the globe. India is also a part of this monitoring programme under the Asian Water Bird Census (AWC) , held every year in mid winter  with the help of the volunteers nationwide and guidance of State Coordinators. The AWC is jointly coordinated in India by Wetland International- South Asia and Bombay Natural History Society. Field implementation is led by the State Coordinators and the network of the State Forest Department Staff, local birders, researchers, students and concerned stakeholders ( please find the list of State Coordinators given below).
 
The recommended dates for the AWC 2023 could be selected during Saturday 7 January to Sunday 22 January 2023
