EIACP PC Resource Partner (RP) on Avian Ecology

 

 

To celebrate "Wildlife Week"  (2nd-8th October 2022), The Environmental Information System Resource Partner on Avian Ecology at the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS-ENVIS) is organizing an online photography competition. The results of this competition will be declared during wildlife week.

Please read these rules before submitting your photograph/s towards the BNHS-ENVIS online photography contest. Following are the rules governing this contest:

 

·The contest is open for all through online submission only. The photographs are to be submitted via the Google form at https://forms.gle/25fE27UxCE7zTeaq8

 

·The photographer must be the copy right holder.

 

·Images should be not be larger than 5 MB and no smaller than 1 MB. Photos must be in .JPEG/.PNG format.

 

· A person can submit up to 5 entries in total for this contest. Kindly rename the photograph with the “species name_category_photographer’s name”.

 

·You are required to provide category for each image submitted. Categories to be chosen from are as follows:

Ø Bird Portraits

Ø Birds in Forest Habitat

Ø Bird-Plant relationship

Ø Birds in Urban Habitat

 

·The photographs submitted should represent birds from within the Indian political boundary ONLY. This does not include the Indian sub-continent.

 

·Pictures must not show the name of the photographer (watermark), agency or publication or any other information (these details can be included in the metadata of the pictures but must not be visible on the picture itself).

 

·All submitted photos must contain the original EXIF metadata information. However, there must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references and/or marks on the image.

 

·Only single exposure and single frame pictures will be accepted.

 

·Basic editing, including color enhancement and cropping of the photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the photo(s).

 

·Advanced editing used to create illusions, deceptions and/or manipulations, and the adding and removing of significant elements within the frame is prohibited.

 

·Participants must provide file(s) as recorded by the camera for all images that proceed to the final stages of the contest. These file(s) will be requested through email. Failure to provide these files when requested will lead to the exclusion of the entry.

 

·The copyright holders represent and warrant that submission of the pictures does not breach any law, and further that no third party can hold any claims or any objections regarding the rights granted to the BNHS. The copyright holders will hold the BNHS harmless of any claims from third parties related hereto.

 

·Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.

 

·Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including provocative nudity, violence, human rights are strictly prohibited and will be immediately discarded.

 

·Last Date for Submission: 1^st October 2022.

 

 

 

 

The judging panel shall assess and determine the winning photographs. The results and the winners will be announced on the website. BNHS reserves the right to call for original JPEG or RAW files with unchanged EXIF for the purpose of authentication. An image maybe disregarded if this information cannot be provided.

 

1. Submitted photos must be original, created and / or taken by the contestant. It must not contain any materials owned or controlled by a third party for which you have not obtained a license, must not infringe the copyright, trademark, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.

 

2. The photographer will be credited wherever the image is used.

 

3. BNHS respects photographer’s copyrights and copyrights shall remain vested with the creator of the image. Upon making the submission, you grant BNHS worldwide, no-exclusive, royalty free, sub-licensable right and license to use, publish, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, create derivative works, distributed, have distributed, print, in whole or in part, in any form, in all media forms now or hereafter known, to promote the contest, image, the photographer or for editorial or educative use.

  

 

If, for any reason the contest is not capable of being conducted as anticipated, due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of BNHS, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, BNHS reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest as deemed appropriate, disqualify any participant, and/or select winners from all eligible photos submitted prior to the termination, cancellation, modification or suspension.

  

 

The contest, your submission(s) and the rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Indian laws. Any aspects or disputes arising out of or in connection with the contest and/or your submission(s) will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the India courts.

 

IMPORTANT: By participating in the contest, you understand, acknowledge and unconditionally agree to abide by the above-mentioned rules. Copyright holders retain copyright of their work. For awarded pictures, copyright holders grant the BNHS unlimited non-exclusive use of high- resolution pictures for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the contest, the exhibition, the yearbook, the public archive, and all promotional and educational activities for and under the auspices of the BNHS, without any remuneration being due.
