On the occasion of ‘World Nature Conservation Day’, July 28, 2020 ENVIS Resource Partner on Avian Ecology at the Bombay Natural History Society and Conservation Education Centre- Mumbai are organizing a Free Online Webinar for amateurs.

 

Topic: - Status, distribution and conservation of Indian Skimmer

 

Indian Skimmer is listed as 'Vulnerable' on the IUCN Red List. Its population is undergoing a rapid decline due to widespread degradation and disturbance of breeding habitat. Parveen has been studying the status of them at National Chambal Sanctuary since 2017. Chambal hosts a significant population of skimmers. Do attend her talk to know more about skimmers nesting ecology and conservation needs.
