ENVIS Resource Partner on Avian Ecology, BNHS organized the second batch of Certificate Course in Development of PBR and Management of BMCs under Biological Diversity Act 2002. The duration of the course was twenty days, from January 14 to February 02, 2020. The course was conducted at Pench Tiger Reserve, Sillari Gate, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in association with the Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board.

 

The residential course covered various topics geared towards familiarizing the participants regarding People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR). Some of the topics covered included biodiversity in India, conservation and protection efforts at the international and national levels, Biodiversity Act 2002, access and benefit sharing, Biodiversity Historical Sites, Biodiversity Management Committee, People’s Biodiversity Register, participatory rural appraisal, basic bird identification, Panchayat Extension to Scheduled Areas 1996, Wildlife of India etc.
