Maharashtra State Symbols

On the eve of “WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY-5th June 2020, ENVIS Resource Partner on Avian Ecology at Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS-ENVIS) is presenting the following poster dedicated to the state symbols of Maharashtra.

This poster visually treats the audience with the richness of biodiversity present in the third largest state by area, of peninsular India, bordering the western coast.

Maharashtra is endowed with varied species of both flora and fauna which have been blessed with species diversification owing to the presence of five regions which are: Deccan Plateau, Central Highlands, Eastern Highlands, Western Ghats, Coastal Plains. Each symbol depicted in the poster is significant in maintaining the balance within our nature.
