BNHS-EIACP

Welcome to the BNHS-EIACP

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF& CC), Government of India, had selected the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) as an EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme) Resource partner on Avian Ecology.Since its inception the focus of EIACP has been on providing information to decision makers, policy planners, scientists and engineers, research workers, etc. all over the country. As avian ecology is a broad-ranging, multi-disciplinary subject, a comprehensive information system on it would necessarily involve effective participation of the concerned institutions/ organizations and all interested individuals in the country that are actively engaged in work relating to different subject areas of avian ecology or environment. EIACP has, therefore, developed itself with a network of such participating institutions/organizations for the programme to be meaningful.

The various objectives being fulfilled by EIACP-BNHS are as follows:

> To create various databases on Avian Ecology- Bibliography, Threatened Birds, Endemic Birds etc.

> Publish and distribute newsletter BUCEROS and other informative products.

> To maintain online databases and to provide user support.

> Dissemination of information on avian ecology through query response service.

> To conduct certificate courses under Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP).

> Aiding in GRIDSS (Grid Based Decision Support System).
